Master the art of persuasive drafting in international arbitration!

We are delighted to invite you to join our upcoming Course on Drafting of Pleadings in International Arbitration.

The course is designed to help participants understand the structure and purpose of key arbitral documents, learn how to present facts and law persuasively within procedural boundaries, and develop practical skills through mock drafting exercises and peer review.

The Course will cover the following:

1. Statement of Claim (SOC) and Statement of Defence (SOD): Understand the structure and strategic purpose of these documents, learn how to construct a persuasive factual narrative, distinguish between memorial and pleadings-style drafting.

2. Interim Applications: Explore the different types of interim relief available in arbitration, understand the format and learn how to convey urgency, balance of convenience, and procedural fairness.

3. Witness Statements: Gain clarity on the evidentiary role of witness statements, and learn how to present facts clearly, consistently, and without advocacy.

4. Written Closing Submissions: Learn how to prepare persuasive post-hearing submissions with effective use of transcripts and case law, prepare responsive submissions, and consider factors such as sequencing, style, length, and timelines.

The faculty members and evaluators will comprise expert practitioners from India and across the globe, bringing diverse perspectives and practical insights to the course.

Participants will also receive an assignment on a factual scenario during the course and will be given 20 days to complete the same. Assignments will be reviewed in a follow-up discussion, where you will receive personalized one-on-one feedback from evaluators along with annotated samples highlighting best practices and common patterns.
